हॉलिवूडच्या १९४१ सालातील It Started with Eve चित्रपटाची हिंदी नक्कल
Some notable features of this
film:
- It was one of the popular 1952 films produced by
Bombay Talkies, owned by Ashok Kumar and Savak Vacha.
- It is a Hindi adaptation of the 1941 Hollywood film
It Started with Eve.
- This was Dev Anand’s first film with Meena Kumari
and his second film with Kishore Kumar.
- The song belongs to the early phase of Kishore
Kumar’s comic songs that he both acted in and sang himself.
- In this very film, music director Manna Dey carried
out a unique and successful experiment by using the voices of three
different singers — Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, and Geeta Dutt — for
Meena Kumari in three different songs!
The film has a total of eight
songs, five of which were composed by Manna Dey. As a music director, Manna Dey
composed music for 115 songs across 19 Hindi films between 1947 and 1973.
Today’s song is completely opposite to Manna Dey’s usually serious style, but
since it was picturized on Kishore Kumar, he composed music perfectly suited to
the comic situation.
The song uses instruments like
piano, violin, trumpet, drums, etc., and has a tune that can be called
freestyle in nature. Kishore Kumar has performed it in his trademark crazy and
energetic style.
Rajju sings this song to wake up
the lazy Dilip. Right from the beginning, you realize how hilarious and
entertaining the song is. In the middle of singing, Kishore Kumar suddenly
shifts to spoken lines, makes bizarre sound effects, and performs all sorts of
comic antics — something only he could pull off. His facial expressions
naturally bring a smile to your face. In the second verse, when Dilip says, “Oh
my God, what do we do now?”, what follows is that vintage Kishore Kumar voice
that is simply unmatched.
And while ending the song,
Kishore Kumar sings the word “Hai” six different times in different
pitches, ending finally in a deep bass note — absolutely marvellous! It gives a
glimpse of his incredible vocal range.
I am sure you will enjoy the song. Do share your reactions and forward it to others. Thank you.
